ACCEPTING CHRISTMAS

Currently today this kingdom, like most of the world, celebrates this festival openly, each time a little more. Today Christmas shopping is present, this speaks of the current tolerance they have and the drastic changes that the country of Saudi Arabia is giving. There are gifts and decorations in many shopping centers, snowmen are seen in the capital apart from a Santa Claus in Al-Khobar, this is thanks to the arrival of many expatriates who come to the kingdom.

The government's efforts for an open and moderate Islam is also an important part of why they celebrate Christmas. The growth of electronic commerce has made it easier for Christian homes to have easy and quick access to Christmas decorations to share this tradition with Muslims. Local businesses like cafes and restaurants are transformed with decorations and even offer holiday-themed Christmas drinks.

It's gotten to the point where Bateel, a cafe and shop selling organic Saudi dates and luxury gifts, has launched a new collection of elegant tree and star shaped gift boxes containing chocolates or filled dates, decorated in red, green , white and gold. Also Lily's bakery and cafe in Jeddah also offers Christmas products and a wintry atmosphere, with cups of rich hot chocolate decorated with gingerbread men. Advertising agencies also joined in launching different messages with Christmas scenes, this speaks of an Islam that increasingly accepts Christmas and Christian traditions.
